The Edge of Night

I arrived at Whitley Bay beach to find the outgoing tide had sculpted fascinating patterns in the sand reminiscent of seeing a vast mountain range from high above. The subtle pre-dawn light helped to give the image a wonderful monochromatic quality, and gave the impression of transiting through the darkness and into the light of a new day. Enhanced with Photoshop's new Super Resolution feature.
